THE PROCEDURE
Mirconeedling is a minimally invasive treatment, the micro-needles on the device create micro punctures this is to stimulate and encourage the production of collagen and elastin. Microchannels are also left on the dermis from the microneedling, this helps the solution to better penetrate the skin deeply, but damaging the skin and it stimulates the healing process in the skin which encourages collagen and elastin production
Overview
Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, involves the application of pigments into the upper layers of the skin to enhance or reproduce features that are typically created with regular cosmetics. The most common areas for semi-permanent makeup include eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip color. This technique is considered semi-permanent because the pigments fade over time and require touch-ups to maintain the desired look. Semi-permanent makeup can save time and effort in daily makeup routines.
Brow Treatments
Microblading Hair Stroke Brows
Microblading also known as eyebrow embroidery is a Semi - Permanent tattoo. Hair like strokes are created with the use of a manual pen, made up of very tiny needles. The pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin.

A textured or ‘fluffy hair stroke’ brow uses a digital machine to create hair strokes which are strategically placed throughout the brow to give the illusion of natural hairlike fullness and depth. This brow is perfect for those wanting added texture without committing to a more defined Ombré or Combination brow. Please note that this style of brow is NOT suitable as a method for covering previous permanent makeup.

A specialised tool is used to create the appearance of natural eyebrow hair. There is no other way to create finer hair strokes.
Combination Brows
The Combination Brow is a hybrid of the digital nano hair-stroke technique & machine ombré shading.

Nano hair-strokes are placed at the front of the brow in a strategic patter to mimic the natural hair growth, whilst ombré shading adds both structure and fullness to the body and tail of the brow, graduating from light to dark.
Shading provides the brow with a gentle gradient appearance and is the perfect style for those who are looking to achieve a natural low maintenance perfectly shaped tint effect brow with some added help in the form of hair-strokes for texture.
The Hyperrealism Brow
Hyper-Realism Brows are a type of Eyebrow Tattooing however instead of a blade, for this treatment we use a highly specialised, advanced tattooing technique with a machine to create super realistic, natural-looking brows.
Rather than tattooing individual hairstrokes into the skin like with Microblading/Hairstroke Brow, we tattoo wispy, overlapping hairstokes in a unique pattern to mimic the natural movement and direction of real eyebrow hairs. This pattern builds in intensity in the middle of the eyebrow to create a hyper-realistic 3D effect.

Less defined than some of our other brow options, this is the perfect choice for those wanting the fuller, fluffier brows that are on-trend right now.

It’s also an excellent choice for those with little or no natural eyebrow hair, or anyone suffering from alopecia or undergoing chemotherapy.
The Ombré Brow
The Ombré Brow is designed to create a natural and soft-looking brow. Rather than using a block colour throughout the entire brow, the Ombré Brow technique uses a soft diluted pixelation of colour at the front of the brow and then slowly increases the gradient to produce a darker colour at the tail of the brow.
The result: a soft, misty and fluffy finish which compliments the natural shape and colour of the brow, giving it great depth and definition.

The Ombré Brow technique will heal to reveal very natural results which last up to three years, providing aftercare is carried out correctly.
This brow literally heals like a perfectly shape tint like effect.
Lip Treatments
Lip Blush
Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Essentially, it is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip colour, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness.

Lasting between 2-3 years depending on skin type, aftercare & lifestyle, lip blush creates the effect of a defined lip border and ombré effect shading effective for those who have lost that natural outline as a result skin ageing, dermal fillers or scarring.
Lip blush seeks to rejuvenate the lips by replenishing colour loss, adding plumpness & providing a defined outline. The style of tattoo mimics the look of a lip tint, it will look both natural and transparent in colour with no harsh outlines.

Is this treatment suitable for me?

Semi-permanent makeup can be suitable for a variety of individuals, depending on their needs and preferences. Here are some situations where semi-permanent makeup may be beneficial:
1. Busy individuals: Those who have a hectic lifestyle or limited time for daily makeup application can benefit from semi-permanent makeup. It saves time and effort by eliminating the need for daily makeup application.
2. Allergic reactions: People with allergies to traditional cosmetics may find semi-permanent makeup a viable alternative. The pigments used in this process are generally hypoallergenic and less likely to cause irritation.
3. Visual impairments: Individuals with vision problems that make it challenging to apply makeup can benefit from semi-permanent makeup, as it eliminates the need for precise application.
4. Sparse or thinning eyebrows: If you have thin or sparse eyebrows, semi-permanent makeup can help create the illusion of fuller and more defined eyebrows. This is especially beneficial for people with naturally light or fair eyebrow hair.
5. Scar camouflage: Semi-permanent makeup can also be used to camouflage scars or uneven skin tones. It can help to even out the appearance of the affected area and boost self-confidence. It is important to consult with a professional and discuss your specific needs and expectations before proceeding with semi-permanent makeup. They will be able to guide you in determining if it is suitable for you and provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

How do I prepare for Semi Permanent Make-up treatment?

Avoid certain products or treatments: Leading up to your appointment, it is advisable to avoid using any retinol creams, chemical peels, or exfoliating treatments in the area where you plan to get semi-permanent makeup. These products can make your skin more sensitive or affect the treatment's outcome.
Do not consume alcohol or caffeine: It is recommended to avoid consuming alcohol or excessive caffeine 24 hours before your appointment. These substances can thin the blood and make the treatment more uncomfortable.
Arrive with clean skin: Ensure that the area to be treated is clean and free from makeup, lotions, or creams on the day of your appointment. This will allow the professional to work on a fresh canvas and promote better adherence of the pigments.
Avoid sun exposure: Ideally, minimise sun exposure on the treated area before your appointment. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more sensitive and impact the outcome of the treatment.
Discuss any medical conditions or medications: Inform the professional about any existing medical conditions, allergies, or medications you are taking. This will help them tailor the treatment to your specific needs and ensure your safety.

How often do I need the treatment?
Semi permanent make up is a 2 part treatment.
1. Eyebrows: For eyebrow microblading or microshading, it is common to have an initial treatment followed by one or two touch-up sessions. The touch-ups are typically scheduled 4-6 weeks apart to assess the healing process, make necessary adjustments, and ensure the longevity of the results.
2. Eyeliner: Eyeliner semi-permanent makeup usually requires two sessions, with a gap of 4-6 weeks between them. The first session is for the initial application, and the second is a touch-up to perfect the shape and adjust the color intensity.
3. Lips: Lip blush or lip tinting may also require two sessions. The initial session focuses on outlining and filling in the lips, while the touch-up session is used to adjust the color and ensure even pigmentation.
It's important to note that the healed results of semi-permanent makeup vary from person to person. Some individuals may achieve their desired results after the initial treatment, while others may require additional touch-up sessions. During the consultation with a professional, they will assess your skin type and discuss the estimated number of sessions needed to achieve your desired outcome. Remember that regular touch-up sessions are recommended to maintain the desired results, as semi-permanent makeup fades over time. The frequency of touch-ups will depend on factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, and personal preference.

What aftercare is needed?

During your appointment you will be given an aftercare pack, consisting of an aftercare booklet and ointment. Once your appointment is finished an email with clear instructions will follow. This is the most important part of your treatment, and you must adhere to the given instructions. Please ensure when booking your appointment you have left the following 2 weeks free to allow the treatment to heal properly.
Please note: after your first session the colour of the treated area will appear darker and thicker then the desired outcome. The colour will soften from day five and you will lose up to 70% of the pigment by the end of the two weeks. It is completely normal to be left with patches and unevenness this is why it is crucial to complete your treatment with the 8 weeks touch up. This is included in the cost of your treatment.
You must avoid getting the treated area wet for two weeks. This includes avoiding steam from your shower or bath, and other activities such as cooking, ironing, and using the dishwasher.
Please avoid ALL gym activities, saunas, pools, and any outdoor sports.
You must avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks post treatment. This includes sunbeds / UV treatments. Factor 50 is advised when exposed to sunlight and tanning.
Apply the ointment as instructed. This varies for each skin type and Stephanie will decide what is best on the day of your appointment.
Around the treated area you will need to avoid eye cream, and any facial products containing retinoids and AHA. Other treatments include chemical peels, lasers, and facials.
If you have a fringe please keep it pinned back to avoid the risk of infection.
Itching is completely normal. Please do not pick or scratch your treatment as you will disturb the healing process, and this could lead to unwanted results and possible scarring.
Your treatment will begin peeling naturally from day five onwards. Do not be alarmed, this is completely normal.
Be very careful when applying make up around the treated area, leaving a small gap will make it easier to remove.
